Valle San Liberale Excursion

The Valle San Liberale Excursion introduces enthusiasts to the Mount Grappa massif, in fact it is one of the starting points to reach the imposing mountain. From this enchanting valley several paths develop that allow you to reach the top of the Grappa, with well over a thousand meters in altitude.

Going up you can go through different types of excursions by weaving the various paths, so as to form very interesting rings. Today we are talking about the excursion that starts from the San Liberale valley, a town of Paderno del Grappa, and climbs in a zigzag to Pian de la Bala at an altitude of 1,380 meters. The route is well marked and as it rises in altitude, spectacular views of the valley open up. It is a mule track of the First World War that climbs fairly quickly and develops within a luxuriant forest.

Pian de la Bala opens a spectacular panorama over the whole plain, with the Piave river crossing it, and on fine clear days without haze you can see the sea of the Venice lagoon. In these beautiful areas it is very easy to come across some chamois that runs along the slopes of this valley.

The excursion is suitable for anyone, the route is quite popular with strolling people and families, thanks also to the well-kept road surface.
