San Pietro di Feletto is one of the most typical places of the Marca Trevigiana, it is located a few minutes from Conegliano and is surrounded by the green hills of the province of Treviso.
San Pietro di Feletto
It is located along the Prosecco Superiore wine route, in a territory protected by UNESCO in 2019, as a World Heritage Site to be protected. These lands are particularly suggestive, with strong distinctive features and steep slopes alternating with gentle slopes, in which the infinite network of vineyards is mastered undisturbed.
Among these valleys we can taste another typical product, the Refrontolo Passito DOCG, which looks like a sweet wine, perfumed as a companion or after a meal, made from Marzemino grapes.
After an aging of about four months, the passito preserves the intense ruby red color, with a delicate and characteristic smell, and a harmonious, velvety and sweet taste. It is mainly produced in the municipalities of Pieve di Soligo, Refrontolo and San Pietro di Feletto.
Its name derives from the Latin “Felix”, that means "fern", in reference to the surrounding woods, made up of locust trees and chestnut trees. This charming village, located on the hills, is characterized by many rural houses typical of the area and the ancient Pieve di San Pietro.
This marvelous Longobard work, built around the year one thousand, was used almost exclusively for baptisms, since it was the only church in the surrounding area that had the baptismal font.
Its interior has three narrow naves, divided by round arches and walls entirely frescoed in Byzantine style, with works by various authors ranging from the thirteenth to the fifteenth century. Finally, do not miss the chapel of the baptismal font, decorated with frescoes of the late fifteenth century, which tell the life and martyrdom of St. Sebastian.
