The Bosconero rifugio excursion is among those little known, in fact these areas of the Val di Zoldo are perfect for lovers of wild nature and silence. We are in the Bosconero Group, in the Zoldo Dolomites, declared World Heritage Site in 2009 by UNESCO, in the province of Belluno.

The area is little frequented by mass tourism, and this is a point in favor for the territory, also the large lush forests, the high rocky walls and the unforgettable views make these valleys memorable.

The Bosconero was once a dark and mysterious place, difficult to access, thanks also to its characteristic impervious mountain, often frequented only by woodcutters and hunters. We park the car at the Pontesei lake in Val di Zoldo, where we find a nice large parking lot.

The Bosconero rifugio excursion begins on the opposite side of the road and after about 10 minutes of walking we find the "decisive" crossroads, in fact both CAI paths 485 and 490 lead to the refuge, both through the large forest and along pretty waterways.

My advice is to go up one path and go down the other. Arriving at the refuge opens a spectacular panorama of the valley, with high rocky walls of the Bosconero group behind us, enjoy the well-deserved lunch and the spectacular scenery of these areas. The excursion is suitable for anyone, the path is uncrowded but decidedly beautiful. Pay attention to the ice that forms during the colder periods. We recommend a calm pace, to enjoy the wonderful landscape that will surround you.
