The Averau rifugio excursion is a nice trip to tackle sooner or later, in fact it does not present anything challenging, the path is very pleasant and the landscapes are fantastic. The famous Averau rifugio is located at 2,413 meters in the Nuvolau Group, in the Ampezzo Dolomites, in the province of Belluno.
The path starts from the Fedare rifugio at 2,000 meters along the road that leads to Passo Giaù, the track follows that of the chair lift, through green meadows always in the sun and the curious whistles of the marmots that run here and there among the large stones.
You gradually climb towards the Nuvolau fork, where the beautiful Averau rifugio dominates, surrounded by all the most beautiful mountain groups in the Dolomites, a World Heritage Site.
From here you can make two choices, the first is to stop and enjoy the landscape, the second is to continue for another 40 minutes until you reach the Nuvolau Rifugio at 2,574 meters, thus dominating the surrounding area at 360 ° in the Ampezzo Dolomites.
The excursion is suitable for anyone, the route is always very popular with people walking and also with families with children. Pay attention to the ice that forms during the colder periods. We recommend a calm pace, to enjoy the wonderful landscape that will surround you.
